What's New: XP Points and a Flying Weather Guide
September's HeliCoach update adds XP points for every flight you log, plus a flying weather guide that answers one simple question: is today a flying day?
Turn your flying into points
The headline addition this month is XP. Everything you already do in HeliCoach now earns points: logging a flight, ticking off a maneuver, running your preflight checks, adding a helicopter, even checking the flying weather each day.
Bigger skills pay bigger rewards. Each proficiency level is worth more than the one before it, and finishing every maneuver in a level pays out a large completion bonus on top. Flying regularly matters too — hitting 5, 10, 20 or 30 flights in a month earns an extra monthly reward.
Awards appear with an animated counter and a pop-up toast, and the biggest milestones arrive with a burst of sparkles. It is a small bit of fun on top of the serious business of structured practice.
A flying weather guide that speaks pilot
Also new this month: a flying weather guide built for RC helicopters rather than picnics. Each day gets a plain-English verdict — Excellent, Good, Marginal or Poor — judged against your own personal limits for wind, gusts and rain, not a generic forecast.
A colour-coded outlook covers the week ahead so you can spot the best days at a glance, and you can save your flying field on a map. Metric or imperial units, whichever you prefer.
We also spent time making the scoring fairer. A foggy morning or one brief shower no longer drags down an afternoon that looks great, and when a day scores poorly the verdict now names the real culprit — such as low visibility or rain showers — instead of always blaming wind.
